  • Aboriginal Culture (Traditional and Contemporary) A brief look at Kinship Structures and how they worked.

Outcomes:

  • A better awareness of the issues and barriers facing Aboriginal people in the workforce
  • A better understanding of the History of policy and practices that have disadvantaged Aboriginal people and communities.
  • Awareness of Do’s and Dont’s when dealing with Aboriginal people

Older Persons Mental Health First Aid - Tamworth 3 & 4 August 2021

The Older Person Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to assist a person aged 65+ who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based Action Plan.

Artful Toolkit Art and Dementia Workshop - Armidale 10 September

The training will showcase the Artful toolkit from the Sydney Conservatorium of Art and provide hands-on creative activities for staff to explore for themselves what the processes of art can do to understand how this can best help their clients.

Art is not so much about understanding pictures as it is about the process of creating them.

The key benefits of the activities are:

  • encouraging conversation
  • encouraging memory recall
