Our Organisation

NESST is a non-government organisation that has been successfully operating for over 20 years. Our focus is on improving outcomes for vulnerable people living in the community.

NESST works with people, local communities, and organisations to develop and strengthen the skills, processes and resources needed to survive and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

Aged Care Services are available to people:

  • Aged 65 years and over (or 50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people)

  • In all states and territories
  • Who are at risk of premature or inappropriate admission to long term residential care
  • Carers of older Australians eligible for services

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

To build the capacity of local communities and organisations so that they are better equipped to support vulnerable people.

How does NESST engage with your organisation?

NESST have always been able to advise or give me the information that we need to make decisions regarding our services.

I have found the staff friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the services/training have been provided to a quality standard.

It’s great to have somewhere to go with issues and to have what seems complex made simple. Thanks to you all!

They offer a range of services that benefit the sector and their clients. They’re always professional and eager to help. A great support.

The Northern Tablelands Aboriginal Services Portal

NESST has created this portal to provide a single central location for Aboriginal people to be able to:

  • locate useful facilities in their area (such as free Wi-Fi, community libraries, public toilets etc)
  • keep track of events (such as community meetings, NAIDOC week, Deadly Award Ceremony etc) via a dedicated calendar
  • locate services in their area (such as Medical, Legal, Community Services etc) and find relevant contact details
  • provide community resources such as videos, images, pdf documents etc that you can use with your team

NESST has tried to ensure that the content of the Aboriginal Services Portal is culturally appropriate, and accurate at time of development. If you have concerns about any of the content found on this portal, wish to add content, have content removed from this site or make changes to content please contact NESST on info@nesst.org.au
